This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of infographic posters as a health communication medium in improving the nutritional literacy of breastfeeding mothers at UPTD Puskesmas Payangan, Gianyar Regency. Infographic posters are visual communication media that convey health information concisely through a combination of text, images, colors, and icons. However, visual appeal does not necessarily guarantee that the information is effectively understood by the audience. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Informants were selected using purposive sampling and included breastfeeding mothers and healthcare professionals involved in health promotion activities. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed descriptively using the Stimulus–Organism–Response (S-O-R) theory as the analytical framework. The findings indicate that infographic posters serve as an initial educational medium for communicating nutritional information to breastfeeding mothers. Contrasting colors and illustrations can attract attention; however, message comprehension remains influenced by text readability, information density, the relevance of content to the audience’s needs, and poster placement. Some of the information presented was insufficiently specific and practical to help breastfeeding mothers understand how to apply nutritional recommendations in their daily lives. Therefore, infographic posters have the potential to support nutritional literacy, but their effectiveness needs to be strengthened through simplified messaging, improved visual design, and direct guidance from healthcare professionals. This study highlights that effective health communication depends not only on the communication medium itself but also on how audiences receive, process, and understand the information conveyed.
