In this work I set myself the goal of demonstrating how the technique of the leitmotiv (plural leitmotive), developed by Richard Wagner, has been applied by the composers of Japanese film scores and animated series (commonly known as Anime) from the seventies of the twentieth century until today. The aim of this work is to demonstrate how this compositional technique has made its way, starting from the Symphony Fantastic op. 14 by H. Berlioz and continuing with the prelude of the first act of Tristan und Isolde by R. Wagner, until we reach the film soundtrack, where I will take in analysis the soundtrack of the film Jurassic Park (1993) by J. Williams, television series, where I will take in consideration the soundtrack of the series I Medici (2016-2019) by Paolo Buonvino, and Japanese animated series, where we will analyze the soundtrack of the Japanese animated series Demon Slayer (2019-in progress) by Masaru Shina and Yuki Kajiura.
