Almost half of the human population lives in areas where dengue virus (DENV) is endemic and are at risk of infection. The aim of the current study was to analyze 65 publicly available bulk RNA-sequencing samples from the GEO NCBI database. We hypothesized that investigating gene expression in patients with DENV infection compared to healthy controls could identify potential therapeutic targets and augment our understanding of the intracellular transcriptomic response to DENV infection. We report various genes with significant differential expression and multiple predicted drug targets that could be repurposed to reduce the signs and symptoms associated with DENV infection.
