Microneedling in aesthetic practice: Indications, contraindications, needle depth, safety and criteria for minors. A narrative review and the INM protocol

A narrative review of the indications, contraindications, needle depth, safety and use in minors of pen-type microneedling. It reviews the available evidence with its level of support, separates evidence from consensus practice and the authors’ proposals, and sets out indication and intensity tables, criteria for minors, a medical referral traffic-light system, a decision algorithm and an information sheet for the treated person. It forms part of the publication series of the Instituto Nacional de Micropigmentación (INM).
