This paper describes Leporicypraea mappa hanae n. ssp. from the Society Islands, French Polynesia, as a new subspecies of Leporicypraea mappa (Linnaeus, 1758). Previously considered a form of Leporicypraea mappa admirabilis Lorenz, 2002, this population is distinguished by unique shell characteristics. The paper also considers environmental factors that may have contributed to its divergence from related taxa.
