Creating is one of the three core competencies of educational technology, alongside using and managing, yet many educators still find it difficult to produce digital learning resources that are engaging, aesthetic, and grounded in visual message design principles. This study aims to describe the conceptual foundation of Creating competence, analyze the use of Canva as a digital learning resource, and present a practical guide for producing it. A descriptive qualitative approach was applied through a literature review and documentation of a case study on Creating an educational infographic with Canva, guided by the ADDIE model. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that Canva meets four selection criteria for learning resources, namely alignment with learning objectives, readability and ergonomics, multi-platform flexibility, and visual message design, and that it supports the principles of behaviorism, cognitivism, constructivism, and Mayer's cognitive theory of multimedia learning. The case study produced a three-part infographic on the Creating, using, and managing domains, and showed that artificial intelligence can assist the production of visual assets provided its outputs are verified. The study covers the analysis, design, and development stages only; implementation and evaluation with learners are recommended for further research.
