This paper introduces an interdisciplinary computational hermeneutic framework—Commentarial Interpretive Divergence Detection (CIDD)—bridging classical Sanskrit philosophy and Artificial Intelligence / Natural Language Processing (NLP). Focusing on the foundational opening aphorism of the Pātañjala Yoga Sūtras (Sūtra 1.1), this study systematically constructs a granular, clause-level benchmark dataset across four commentarial layers. By mapping epistemological, ontological, and semantic divergences into structured CIDD matrices and CSV classification labels, this work provides a gold-standard dataset specifically engineered to train, fine-tune, and evaluate AI language models on complex Sanskrit philosophical exegesis.
