This article examines the importance of the effective use of long-term assets in budgetary organizations for ensuring operational sustainability and the rational use of budget funds. It assesses the use of property, plant and equipment, intangible assets, and other long-term resources, and analyzes the monitoring of their technical condition, useful lives, depreciation levels, and utilization efficiency. The article also substantiates the role of sound management decisions in the acquisition, safeguarding, repair, modernization, and disposal of assets in optimizing budget expenditure. Based on the research findings, proposals are developed to improve the analytical accounting of long-term assets, introduce digital monitoring systems, strengthen internal control, and assess costs over the entire life cycle of assets. Implementing these proposals in practice will help increase asset utilization, reduce excessive and inefficient expenditure, and improve the quality of public services.
