We prove global well-posedness and regularization for the isotropic consensus-based optimization equation with initial probability measures of finite fourth moment. Under suitable weight decay assumptions, after any nonconstant consensus motion, both the density and the consensus trajectory become smooth, and all spatial Sobolev norms are locally bounded in time. The proof uses a Fourier commutator estimate, localization and iteration, followed by a nonlinear time bootstrap. Counterexamples show that smoothing can fail at a stationary consensus point. For non-Dirac initial data, we also prove positivity away from the consensus point and full support at every positive time in all dimensions.
