We report on quantitative measurement of trace Li isotopes using tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS) in a graphite furnace. An R2 as good as 0.9999 and an MRE (mean relative error) as low as 0.001 were achieved for the calibration curve. In particular, the isotope ratio 7Li/6Li of the standard sample (IAEA LSVEC) was measured as 12.185 ± 0.001, which is in good agreement with its reference value of 12.173. The limit of detection (LOD) is as low as 0.633 ng/mL(ppb). The high accuracy and low LOD indicate that TDLAS integrated with a graphite furnace can serve as a reliable method for trace isotope quantitative analysis, with great potential in many fields such as biology, environmental science and geology.
