Striped hyena is a widely distributed yet understudied carnivore known for its facultative scavenging and opportunistic feeding behaviour across arid and semi-arid landscapes. During a systematic camera trap monitoring exercise in Indergarh range of Ramgarh Vishdhari Tiger Reserve, we documented a rare photographic record of striped hyena carrying a rusty spotted cat suggesting a predation event. This observation improved our understanding of the possible hunting behaviour of striped hyena on small mammals.
