This study aimed to examine the critical success factors influencing information technology (IT) project management success within the Information Technology Department of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University. As healthcare organizations increasingly rely on digital technologies to support clinical services, administration, and decision-making, effective IT project management has become essential for ensuring high-quality healthcare delivery. A quantitative research approach was employed using a structured questionnaire administered to 95 IT personnel involved in project development and management. The study investigated four key factors: system development process, project management process, project management knowledge, and project manager competency. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent-samples t-tests, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson’s correlation analysis. The findings revealed a strong positive relationship between IT project management factors and overall project success (r = .837, p < .01). Among the examined factors, project manager competency demonstrated the strongest relationship with project success (r = .832, p < .01), followed by project management process (r = .782, p < .01), project management knowledge (r = .780, p < .01), and system development process (r = .752, p < .01). Project success was reflected through user satisfaction, internal process efficiency, and organizational learning outcomes. The findings suggest that strengthening project management competencies, improving project governance processes, and enhancing organizational knowledge can significantly contribute to successful IT project implementation and improved healthcare service performance.
