Exploring Manganese Dioxide (MnO2) Nanostructures: Eco-Friendly Fabrication, Structural Insights, and Emerging Functional Applications*Manganese dioxide (MnO2) nanostructures have emerged as a versatile class of functional materials due to their unique physicochemical properties, low cost, and environmental compatibility. This study presents a comprehensive overview of eco-friendly fabrication routes for MnO2 nanostructures, including green synthesis, hydrothermal, and sol-gel methods that minimize hazardous byproducts. The work discusses the structural insights of various MnO2 polymorphs (α, β, γ, δ) and their morphologies (nanorods, nanowires, nanosheets, nanoflowers) characterized through XRD, SEM, TEM, and FTIR techniques. The correlation between synthesis conditions, crystal structure, and surface properties is critically analyzed.Furthermore, the paper highlights emerging functional applications of MnO2 nanostructures in energy storage (supercapacitors, batteries), environmental remediation (adsorption and degradation of pollutants), catalysis, and biosensing. The eco-friendly nature and tunable properties make MnO2 a promising candidate for sustainable nanotechnology. This research is conducted by Hazrat Bilal, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, Pakistan, for academic and research documentation to obtain a citable DOI.*Keywords:* MnO2, Nanostructures, Eco-Friendly Synthesis, Green Fabrication, Structural Properties, Functional Applications, Energy Storage
