Impact of Effective Management on Sport Tourism Development in Obio/Akpor LGA Rivers State, Nigeria

The development of sport tourism industry in Nigeria with emphasis on Obio-Akpor LGA,Rivers state is not that encouraging and this may not be unconnected with the lack of political will to galvanize quality human resource that can effectively manage both human and material resource that would help drive the industry to becoming one major Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) organisation for a state like Rivers that has the potential to create jobs for her citizens through sport tourism. The uniqueness of sport tourism is legendary, hence the need for capable hands that can transform the industry to a wealth and job creation industry that has the capacity to turn in massive income for the state if properly harnessed. Based on the foregoing, this study set out to investigate the impact of effective management on Sport tourism development in Obior-Akpor LGA, in Rivers State, Nigeria.
