This study examined the impact of an interactive e-learning module as a pediatric presimulation preparation strategy for prelicensure nursing students and explored perceptions of this approach compared with traditional preparation methods. Knowledge acquisition and retention were measured using a pretest, postmodule test, and postsimulation test, along with student reflections. Scores for students in the e-learning group significantly increased from pretest to postsimulation. Qualitative themes included acquiring knowledge, applying knowledge, reflecting on performance, and retaining knowledge. The findings indicate that interactive e-learning modules can serve as effective preparation tools to increase student knowledge.
