The evolution of information systems in higher education administrative services has heightened the need for the management of students' personal data in a manner that is secure and compliant with legal regulations. This study aims to analyze the management and protection of students' personal data within the administrative information system of the Dean's Office at the Faculty of Law, University of Bengkulu, and to identify obstacles in its implementation. The study employs an empirical legal research method with a socio-legal approach. Data were gathered through interviews, observations, and literature reviews, and were analyzed qualitatively. The findings indicate that the management of students' personal data encompasses data collection, storage, usage, and maintenance to support academic and administrative services. However, implementation faces challenges such as suboptimal access control, the use of both electronic and physical data storage, limited understanding regarding personal data protection, and information system security risks. In conclusion, while personal data protection measures have been implemented to support faculty administration, there is a need to strengthen governance, system security, and data protection procedures in accordance with Law Number 27 of 2022 concerning Personal Data Protection.
