The aim of the study was to assess the detrimental effects of several influential factors on milk yield (305-d MY) in Simmental cows. In this sense, data associated with 816 lactations were collected between January 2022 and December 2024, aiming to assess the 305-d MY according to year, season and cows’ parity. The milk yield according to the studied influential factors was compared using one – way ANOVA protocol, with the categorical factor being “305-d MY”. Tuckey’s test was performed in order to test the differences observed. The least square means and standard error were used to express the analysed data. Decisions about acceptance or rejection of the statistical hypothesis have been made at the 0.05 level of significance. No significant effects were recorded for year (p>0.05). In the current study, the milk yield was influenced (p≤0.01) by the season (5912.8±113.55 kg, 5368.9±109.36 kg and 5197.6±201.17 kg associated with summer, spring and winter, respectively). Parity exerted a significant influence on 305-d MY, the highest amount being recorded in the 4th lactation (6309.2±126.85 kg) compared to the 1st (5219.4±144.27 kg, (p≤0.001) and the 6th (5456.9±169.9 kg, p≤0.01). In this sense, we concluded that 305-d MY proved to be highly dependent on environmental and farm management factors. Based on these findings, the assessment of the influential factors must be performed at the individual farm level. Also, ensuring good management practices, could mitigate the effects of influential factors and maintain the milk production at a high level.
