We report a fully metallic microwave array architecture that suppresses electromagnetic scattering through polarization-dependent phase cancellation and load dissipation. By arranging height-tailored metallic walls in a chessboard configuration, the reflection phase under x-polarized incidence is precisely manipulated, producing broadband destructive interference and suppressing backscattering without degrading the radiation characteristics. Under y-polarized incidence, the incident energy couples into the radiating units and is dissipated by the matched load. Experimental validation of an 8×8 prototype demonstrates a broad impedance bandwidth of 11.6–18.5 GHz and a peak realized gain of 26.5 dBi. The measured radar cross-section reduction exceeds 10 dB from 9.4 to 17.5 GHz (60.2%) for x-polarized normal incidence and 5 dB from 11.4 to 20 GHz (54.8%) for y-polarized normal incidence. This fully metallic architecture provides a practical approach for broadband radiation and scattering control.
