The article is devoted to the criminological study of criminal prohibitions. The relevance of this study stems from the strengthening of the axiological principle in legal regulation. The purpose of this work is to examine the criminal prohibition as a multidimensional sociocultural phenomenon that serves as an element in the construction of constitutional identity. The scientific significance of this work lies in the study of the criminal law prohibition based on the methodology of cultural criminology, which allows not only to identify the value-based meaning of the prohibition but also to trace the degree of its correlation with the legal axiosphere of society. The main results consist of substantiating the dual nature of the prohibition, in which the negative restrictive form serves as a shell for positive value content, conveying the legal axiosphere of society. The development of a system of prohibitions occurs through the process of law socialization, which involves a gradual transition from heteronomous subordination to value self-determination. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the substantiation of the thesis that the stability and degree of influence of criminal law on the consciousness and behavior of citizens is determined by the degree of resonance between the value articulated in the norm and the cultural code of the individual.
