My essay contemplates what it means to bear witness to the present, to what is more than genocide and what is more than the time of the present. It articulates meaningful connections between anticolonial struggles without defaulting to a historical analogy that highlights similarities between Palestine and Việt Nam. Rather than turning to commonality or comparison, how do we think the two together and situate both globally? I suggest that to understand anticolonial relations and temporalities from Việt Nam to Palestine, we need to attend to both the singularity of each struggle and their kinship in fighting for a world against and beyond (settler) colonialism.
