Secrets of the Vatican Library

The article analyzes materials from open information sources on the formation, development and current state of the Vatican Library. Special attention is paid to the generalization of some conspiracy theories about the secrecy of the Papal Archives and the possible use of sensational mystical secrets. It is proven that the formation of the Vatican Library as a center of knowledge occurred thanks to the consistent policy of the heads of the Papal See over many centuries. It is emphasized that the power and danger of the papal intellectual center does not lie in one forbidden scroll. It is scattered among thousands of documents, variants, comments, scribes' errors, court records, letters, catalogs and marginal notes.
