This study develops a web-based digital learning system for SMP Darussalam Ciputat and implements the Boyer–Moore algorithm in its learning-material search feature. The study addresses students’ difficulty locating concepts in learning documents and the administrative burden of managing materials, assignments, and academic information through conventional processes. The application provides role-based access for administrators, teachers, and students, supports learning-material distribution, and enables students to search text stored from uploaded materials. The system was developed using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) approach: requirements planning, user design, construction, and cutover. PHP was used for server-side processing, MySQL for data storage, and web technologies for the interface. In the search module, a keyword is treated as a pattern and compared with document text from right to left. The bad-character shift mechanism allows the algorithm to skip text positions when a mismatch occurs. Functional testing used black-box scenarios, while white-box analysis examined the search procedure. The manuscript reports that the main functional scenarios passed and that the search module had a cyclomatic complexity value of six. These findings indicate that the application followed the specified functional scenarios and that its search logic can be examined through independent paths. However, they do not establish a universal speed advantage for every document size or computing environment; response time can also depend on text length, server resources, and database processing. The system offers a structured way to distribute learning materials and search their text.
