This study aims to examine the effect of Economic Literacy on Consumer Behavior among students of the Economic Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Riau. This research employed a quantitative method with descriptive and verification approaches. The sample consisted of 77 respondents selected using proportional random sampling from students of the 2023, 2024, and 2025 cohorts. Data were collected through questionnaires using a Likert scale and analyzed using validity test, reliability test, classical assumption tests, simple linear regression analysis, and coefficient of determination (R²) with the assistance of SPSS. The results show that students’ economic literacy is categorized as high, while their consumer behavior is categorized as moderate. The simple linear regression analysis indicates that economic literacy has a significant effect on consumer behavior with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.551 indicates that 55.1% of the variation in consumer behavior is explained by economic literacy, while the remaining 44.9% is influenced by other variables not included in this study. Therefore, it can be concluded that economic literacy has a significant effect on students’ consumer behavior. The higher the level of economic literacy, the more rational the consumer behavior of students.
