This study examines how the use of registered accommodation changed across Eastern Poland during the first year of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. It combines daily Polish–Ukrainian border-crossing flows with monthly county-level accommodation data for 2021-2022 and applies a synthetic index based on registered-user intensity, foreign-user intensity and average length of stay. Results reveal spatially differentiated rather than uniform changes, with stronger relative positions in selected urban and corridor counties and weaker outcomes in peripheral areas. Although the longer-stay signatures emerge in some counties, they do not directly identify refugee accommodation, stay purpose or establishment-level functional conversion.
