Meeting protein requirements is a crucial aspect of supporting the growth and development of children under five (toddlers and young children). This activity aimed to educate participants on the importance of protein intake for young children and to introduce the processing of chicken meat into meatballs as a high-protein food alternative. The event was held on August 19, 2026, in conjunction with the Posyandu (Integrated Health Post) program in Batu Rejo Village, Namorambe District, Deli Serdang Regency. Twenty mothers with children under the age of five participated. The activity employed educational sessions and a practical tutorial on making chicken meatballs, followed by an evaluation using a questionnaire. Evaluation results indicated that 19 respondents (95%) understood the importance of protein for the growth and development of young children, and 19 respondents (95%) recognized chicken meat as a good source of protein. Seventeen respondents (85%) found the tutorial easy or very easy to understand. All respondents (100%) stated that the activity increased their knowledge, rated the activity as effective or highly effective, and expressed interest in trying to make chicken meatballs independently at home. These results demonstrate that the education and tutorial on chicken meatball preparation received a positive response and serve as an effective educational approach to support mothers' understanding and skills in providing high-protein meals for young children.
