Two amorphous forms of capecitabine with essentially different thermal properties were prepared and characterized by simultaneous thermogravimetry and differential scanning calorimetry, temperature-modulated differential scanning calorimetry, powder X-ray diffractometry, optical microscopy in polarized light and atomic force microscopy. The onset point of cold crystallization, glass transition point and the ability of the obtained amorphous forms to crystallize in organic solvent vapors depend significantly on the solvents used for their preparation. The results help to obtain the drug form with potentially higher medical efficacy.
