The paper presents the results of experimental studies conducted on a measurement stand concerning the effect of selected operating parameters of a commercially available pneumatic strut with a hydraulic damper on the effective damping value. The studies were conducted at different chosen operating parameters: various harmonic excitation speeds and nominal gas pressures. The studies were conducted on a laboratory stand that enabled harmonic motion of pneumatic strut and acquisition of force, displacement, and pressure in the strut’s working chamber data. The damping value was determined based on energy analysis and force-velocity characteristics. The results indicate a significant, nonlinear effect of the studied parameters on the system's damping properties. These studies allowed the collection of parameters necessary for the construction of a simplified physical model of the pneumatic strut with hydraulic damper.
