The person, the family, the school, and society face one learning problem: when explanations and preliminary solutions can be obtained with the aid of artificial intelligence at a comparatively low cost, how should conditions be organized so that people can know themselves, understand the world, steer their own learning, and share responsibility for action? The four scales use the same developmental dimensions, the same design cycle, and the same division of work between people and artificial intelligence. They are not four theories. They differ in who is responsible for what, in who holds the data, and in what counts as maturity. A personal learning system is both an end and a starting point. It comprises purposes, a map of knowledge, a network of resources, relationships, tools, and evidence. The record of growth is held by the learner. For a minor, it is held jointly with a guardian. A personal learning companion may offer clues. It does not decide who the person is to become. A family forms a judgment about the times and about the child before it organizes conditions for growth. Adults carry that judgment. Six domains of living are available for selection. They are not six subjects to be filled in equal measure. Under scarce resources, a minimum version preserves basic understanding, one small choice the child initiates, one real experience, and feedback that does not depend on paid programmes. A school is a hub between personal growth and social resources, not the sole center of learning. Its maturity is not judged by the number of courses, by equipment, or by the frequency of events. A societal learning ecology is first a form of understanding, and only then a stock of resources and organizations. Whether that understanding precedes resources and directs their use remains a hypothesis. A student's personal growth data are not an object of trade. No scale replaces the others. The article reports no primary data. Its illustrative examples are not evidence. The English PDF is the primary file. The Chinese PDF is a parallel version of the same text (zho).
