The article is devoted to the issues of competent construction of a system of sub-accounts and analytical accounts with the aim of maximum specification for each object and type of calculation. An approach in which accounting information is recorded in a too general manner, with low detail of accounting data, in practice does not generate sufficient data for the preparation of reliable reports and control over accounting objects. This leads to the need to develop a working chart of accounts containing only those synthetic and analytical accounts that are truly necessary for work, allowing financial and operational information to be structured so that it can be used to make management decisions, not just record business transactions, but to see cause-and-effect relationships and predict future events. The schemes for constructing analytics for a particular synthetic account, developed by the author and discussed in the article using practical examples, allow for the development of approaches to the competent construction of an analytics system for the synthetic accounts used by any enterprise. Recommendations for developing a detailed analytical working chart of accounts for an enterprise are formulated. Attention is paid to modern trends in structuring sub-accounts and analytical accounts. The research materials can be used by practicing accountants and are also recommended for university students and postgraduate students studying accounting disciplines.
