The present study aimed to identify the factors influencing the use of distance learning in teaching at Jordanian universities. The qualitative methodology was adopted through the use of an interview tool, whose validity and reliability were verified. Participants were purposefully selected and included seven students from various majors and academic levels, as well as five faculty members from both public and private universities in Jordan. The analysis of the interviews revealed a consensus among the participating faculty members on the importance of providing sufficient training programs and enhancing faculty readiness, as this factor was considered the most influential in the effective implementation of distance learning. The findings also showed that all participating students agreed on the necessity of providing adequate infrastructure and ensuring stable and continuous internet connectivity. Moreover, four students emphasized the importance of providing the necessary devices and tools for distance learning. Based on these results, the researchers recommended enhancing the readiness of faculty members and developing their technical competencies through specialized and advanced training programs. In addition, educational institutions should focus on transforming the educational culture toward distance learning and encouraging innovation and the adoption of modern teaching strategies.
