Experimental pairing gap values deduced from binding energy and energy of the first 2 + state show certain discontinuities in rare-earth nuclei around N = 100. The neutron single-particle levels in even-even Z = 60 – 68 nuclei around N = 100 have been studied using Skyrme Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov method with the Skyrme energy density functional SLy6 as well as with Gogny interaction D1N. We find that both interactions show a deformed shell gap at N = 100. This gap plays an important role in determining r-process abundances.
