Investigation of heat transfer using thermal radiation effects is of utmost interest particularly in renewable energy systems and improving the efficiency of curved surface flow model which is important for heat transfer applications. Thus, aim of this work is to formulate an advanced nanofluid model accommodating an external influence of thermal radiations through curved configuration is considered. The governing problem formulated using thermophysical characteristics of tetra-nanofluid (Al2O3, MgO, Cu, and Ag), similarity transforms. The numerical solver bvp4c in MATLAB is then implemented for multi-range parametric output for comparative nanofluids and examined that the curvature and nanomaterial concentration regulate the flow while stretching of the domain enhances it. Further, the use of nonlinear radiations, temperature ratio, NPs concentration, and varying curvature of the surface provided valuable insights for thermal transport improvement. It is examined that skin friction varies from $$\:6.37974$$ to $$\:5.56863$$ , $$\:5.97797$$ to $$\:5.25798$$ , $$\:5.58160$$ to $$\:4.94978$$ , and $$\:5.59535$$ to $$\:4.96051$$ multiple types of fluids against increasing $$\:k$$ from 5 to 20. Moreover, the comparative output highlights that newly tetra-nanofluid has much ability to transform heat than previous classes. Thus, these nanofluids will be better for enhanced thermal applications.
