Abstract “The Earth is not merely a legacy inherited from our ancestors; it is a responsibility entrusted to us on behalf of future generations.” Sustainable development is an important concept in contemporary development planning. It aims to achieve economic and social progress while protecting the environment and conserving natural resources. Viksit Bharat represents India's national aspiration for comprehensive development, with the goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047. Achieving this vision requires economic prosperity, social equality, environmental sustainability and technological advancement. Education, healthcare, employment and skill development are essential pillars of national progress. Renewable energy sources, including solar and wind power, can contribute to a cleaner economy. Water conservation, afforestation and biodiversity protection are necessary for maintaining ecological balance. Modern technology, digital services and scientific innovation can accelerate development. Balanced rural and urban development is equally important. Women's empowerment and the inclusion of disadvantaged communities are essential for equitable progress. Sustainable agriculture, green industries and effective waste management can reduce resource wastage. Transparent governance, public participation and social responsibility can further strengthen development initiatives. Therefore, integrating sustainable development principles into national planning can help India become a prosperous, inclusive, environmentally responsible and developed nation.
