Impactos Da Indústria 4.0 Na Força De Trabalho Portuária: O Caso Do Terminal Marítimo De Ponta Da Madeira

The article analyzes the impact of new technologies on the workforce of operators and mechanics at the Ponta da Madeira maritime terminal in São Luís (MA), in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The study focuses on the period between 2010 and 2020 and aims to investigate the effects of the technological transformations that have taken place at the port terminal and their repercussions on the workforce. VALE's corporate documents and other documentary sources were analyzed for information. The work shows how the port terminal has incorporated new technologies into its macro-processes, with the growing incorporation of automation and a change in the profile of operators' work activities, whose work has become digitized.
