The aim of this research was to conduct an exhaustive review of the literature on current trends in the variables that predict deviant behaviour at work. In addition, it aimed to identify the most logical grouping of the different predictors of counterproductive work behaviour. To explore the phenomenon of counterproductive work behaviour, this study integrates studies with several research designs published from 2014 to 2024. The review was carried out following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. The included studies were drawn from two reputable databases, Web of Science and Scopus. A total of 12 studies covering various antecedents and predictors of counterproductive work behaviour were examined in detail for this systematic literature review. Predictors frequently used to show an effect on counterproductive work behaviour were identified and placed into groups for better classification and understanding. Based on the literature, a logical grouping of the predictors of counterproductive work behaviour is provided. This framework can serve as a theoretical foundation for future studies and applications.
