Agriculture is a crucial pillar of Central Asia's economy, but it faces severe vulnerabilities due to climate change, including rising temperatures, glacial depletion, extreme droughts, and erratic precipitation. This paper examines the role of agricultural insurance markets as a critical mechanism for climate risk management across Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan. Despite escalating climatic threats, traditional agricultural insurance penetration remains significantly low due to structural challenges, high administrative costs, data limitations, and low rural financial literacy. The article highlights the transformative potential of parametric and index-based insurance models driven by remote sensing and satellite technologies. Furthermore, it emphasizes the importance of public-private partnerships, government premium subsidies, and regional transboundary cooperation in building sustainable risk-financing frameworks to ensure food security and economic resilience in Central Asia.
