Student dropout in free technical education programs may compromise the effectiveness of parafiscal resources allocated to vocational education and affect the educational trajectories of students experiencing socioeconomic vulnerability. This study aimed to develop a management tool to systematically record students’ intention to withdraw and support pedagogical interventions in technical courses offered through the Senac Free Education Program (PSG) at the Senac unit in Divinópolis, Minas Gerais, Brazil. A qualitative applied case study was conducted through document analysis, technical visits carried out between February and August 2024, and technological prospecting in the databases of the Brazilian National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). An analysis of 677 dropout records from 2023 identified that 373 lacked a recorded reason for withdrawal, indicating the need for more structured mechanisms to collect such information. Based on these findings, a prototype was developed featuring dashboards for students and pedagogical supervisors. As a limitation, the tool has not yet been validated with users, which prevents assessing its effects on student retention.
