The transient stability of offshore wind farm (OWF) integrated modular multilevel matrix converter based low-frequency AC (M3C-LFAC) systems is challenging during onshore frequency support. This letter identifies that the OWF-M3C power mismatches, triggered by the slow response delay of the OWF phase-locked loop (PLL), are the root cause of stability degradation. To address this, an active support control based on reverse frequency transmission is proposed to eliminate the M3C-OWF power mismatch, which can enhance the system's transient stability and maintaining the overall support capacity unchanged. Experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.
