This study aims to improve the accuracy of equations for evaluating shear capacity and stiffness for reinforced concrete shear walls through finite element analysis. The evaluation method for shear skeleton curves is modified from the conventional bi-linear model to the tri-linear model incorporating the 90% capacity point. Based on the parametric study and an experimental database, optimal evaluation equations for shear capacity and stiffness reduction factors are identified. Comparisons with existing experimental results show that the tri-linear model incorporating the proposed equations can predict actual shear behavior more accurately than the conventional model.
