An epidemic network is composed of computers and devices connected by unstable hop-by-hop communication where there is no router or base station. This scheme is important for IoT networks and temporary networks during disasters. However, it is prone to blackhole attack in which malicious nodes drop messages they receive instead of forwarding. This study proposes a lightweight mitigation against the blackhole attack based on the trust estimation technique.
