Four new bis(chlorotriazine) reactive dyes have been synthesized. Two of them are bis(dichlorotriazine) and two are bis(monochlorotriazine) dyes, containing a residue of the stabilizer 4-amino-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine. They were evaluated for dyeing of cotton fabric. The colour coordinates of the resulting textile samples using the CIE Lab colour space were examined. The degree of exhaustion, fixation and total fixation was determined. The resistance of dyed samples to dry and wet treatments and lights was tested. The photostability of the dyes in water solution and the photostability of the dyed cotton samples have been determined. As a result of the studies carried out it was found that all synthesized dyes are appropriate for dyeing of cotton, as better results for exhaustion and fixation are obtained with the bis(dichlorotriazine) dyes, and the bis(monochlorotriazine) dyes gave better light fastness. The introduction of a 4-amino-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine fragment in the dye molecule increases the photostability insolution with about 30 % and gives a possibility to obtain colored samples with high stability of light.
