This conceptual working paper introduces Generation 0, a speculative theoretical framework exploring the relationship between fundamental matter, free will, emergent agency, ego, and reflective self-consciousness. The framework proposes the hypothetical Chaos Quark as a fundamental contributor to free will rather than consciousness itself. Within this model, ego and reflective self-consciousness are interpreted as later developmental branches arising through increasingly complex biological organization. Carbon and oxygen serve as chemical reference points and symbolic foundations for exploring the emergence of complex systems. The associated Newi/New1 framework distinguishes individual constituents from newly organized wholes, emphasizing differentiation, interaction, and continuation. The paper examines these proposals alongside established particle physics, nonlinear dynamics, neuroscience, and philosophy of mind. It distinguishes metaphorical interpretation from testable physical hypotheses and identifies the empirical and theoretical requirements necessary for further scientific investigation. Generation 0 and the Chaos Quark are original speculative constructs, not established categories or experimentally verified particles within the Standard Model. This working paper presents no new experimental data and has not undergone peer review.
