Plastic bottle waste is an environmental problem that requires attention through education and the development of environmentally responsible habits from an early age. This community service activity aimed to provide education on plastic bottle waste to support the development of environmental awareness among students at SMP Muhammadiyah Abepura, Jayapura City, Papua. The activity employed an educational approach involving 30 student officers of the Muhammadiyah Student Association (Ikatan Pelajar Muhammadiyah, IPM). The activities included the delivery of educational materials, distribution of a brochure entitled Environmental Care Begins with Plastic Bottles, and the provision of one plastic bottle collection basket measuring 80 × 120 × 150 cm to the school. The educational materials covered reducing the use of single-use plastic bottles, reusing bottles that are safe and suitable for reuse, sorting waste, and supporting recycling. The outcomes included the provision of informational materials and supporting facilities to help connect educational messages with plastic bottle waste management practices in the school environment. The brochure emphasized responsibility, discipline, environmental awareness, and cooperation in maintaining cleanliness. The collection basket was provided to encourage the habit of collecting plastic bottles, while further waste management through a waste bank is planned once the basket is full. This activity represents an initial step toward supporting environmental character education through educational activities and practical facilities. However, changes in students' knowledge, attitudes, and behavior cannot yet be concluded because no specific evaluation has been conducted.
