The family Iteaphilidae (Diptera, Empidoidea) is recorded from late Eocene Rovno amber (Ukraine) for the first time. Two new species are described and illustrated: Iteaphila rovnoensis sp. nov. and Paraiteaphila sinclairi sp. nov. Phylogenetically, the Iteaphilidae are a small lineage of basal Empidoidea. Adults of extant species of the family are well-known visitors of early-blooming plants, feeding on pollen and nectar.
