Every review of the deposit ranked the same computation first: soften the cavity wall, see whether the empirically measured skin (~0.55 fm, electron scattering) supplies the ~40 MeV surface discount that Papers 85 and 88 quantified. This paper reports the attempt — and the honest result is that the quick calculation cannot decide the question, for a reason that is itself worth depositing. This record holds one paper on its own and is refreshed every couple of months. The complete deposit, 10.5281/zenodo.21788037, holds every paper with its code and data and is updated first; for the newest version of this paper, go there.
