Fungsi dalam Teks Gending Sanghyang Deling sebagai Sastra Lisan di Banjar Abangsongan Kintamani

The text of Gending Sanghyang Dѐling is a song used to accompany the Sanghyang Dѐling ritual in Banjar Abangsongan, Kintamani. The text contains messages that make it an interesting subject for further study. This study aims to identify the functions of the Gending Sanghyang Dѐling text as an oral tradition practiced by the community of Banjar Abangsongan, Kintamani. The data collection process was carried out using two methods, namely the listening method and the interview method. The data collected consisted of the text of Gending Sanghyang Dѐling, which was then analyzed using qualitative and translational equivalent methods. The data were subsequently presented using an informal method. This study employed Bascom's theory as the primary theoretical framework for examining the functions of the Gending Sanghyang Dѐling text. The data analysis revealed five functions of the text: religious function, aesthetic function, educational function, social function, and neutralization function. According to the beliefs of the Banjar Abangsongan community in Kintamani, the text of Gending Sanghyang Dѐling is believed to be a song performed to invoke protection so that the community may be spared from misfortune
