An external reviewer diagnosed Paper 83's precisely: the bare cavity's closure sequence matches the doubled magic numbers on its first three entries (4, 16, 40) and then diverges — the textbook signature of a central well with no spin-orbit term, the exact defect Goeppert-Mayer and Jensen repaired in 1949 (Nobel 1963, credited). This paper verifies the diagnosis, adds the twist with one openly-labelled strength, sweeps it, and confronts both versions with data behind a declared bar. The results are honest and mostly deflating, and they are recorded as such. This record holds one paper on its own and is refreshed every couple of months. The complete deposit, 10.5281/zenodo.21788037, holds every paper with its code and data and is updated first; for the newest version of this paper, go there.
