Purpose: In the present study, methanol extract was prepared from the aerial parts of Vinca soneri and has been chemically characterized by LC-MS/MS analyses. Method: V. soneri was collected from the Erzincan, the aerial parts were dried in the shade and powdered. The powdered material was extracted with methanol twice at room temperature, and they were evaporated by rotary evaporator at 40°C under vacuum. Findings: Notably, the content of some secondary metabolites, namely phenolic acids (quinic acid, Protocatechuic acid, Chlorogenic acid, Protocatechuic aldehyde, rosmarinic acid and caffeic acids), flavonoids (rutin, quercetin, isoquercitrin, hesperidin, acacetin, and luteolin), flavonoid glycosides (nicotiflorin), has been determined. Furthermore, the extracts were tested for their antioxidant capabilities (DPPH, and ABTS radical scavenging assays) and enzyme inhibitory properties against cholinesterase, tyrosinase, elastase, and collagenase. Conclusion: Our findings present data for chemico-biological characteristics of V. soneri and give a scientific foundation for the development of nutraceuticals and food supplements.
