Three groups of african catfish were fed different feeds for 60 days, under otherwise equal conditions. The individuals fed with compound feed for sturgeon fish showed the highest survival rate and biomass yield, with lower feed consumption. However, the average weight and growth rate per individual, as well as the average daily gain, were achieved in the group fed a diet that included 40% feed for sturgeon fish and 60% ground and heat treated broiler chicken intestines. This type of feed is effective for catfish and is significantly cheaper than the commonly used compound feed for fish.
