Hypertension is a disease characterized by an increase in systolic blood pressure ≥140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure ≥90 mmHg. Hypertension is known as a silent killer because it often occurs without clear symptoms and can cause complications such as stroke, heart disease, and kidney failure. This community service activity aimed to increase public knowledge and awareness regarding hypertension prevention in the elderly. The method used was health education through counseling, discussions, and question-and-answer sessions. Educational media used included leaflets, posters, and presentations. The participants were elderly and adults in the community. The results showed that participants were enthusiastic during the activity and experienced increased knowledge about hypertension, including risk factors, symptoms, prevention, and healthy lifestyles. Participants were able to understand the importance of reducing salt intake, exercising regularly, avoiding smoking, maintaining ideal body weight, and routinely checking blood pressure. The counseling activity proved effective in improving community understanding and awareness about hypertension prevention. It is expected that the community can apply healthy lifestyle behaviors to reduce the risk and complications of hypertension in the future.
